When you think of Nantucket, you probably picture lobster rolls and oysters — but tucked away on India Street, Proprietors Bar & Table is rewriting the story with globally inspired small plates and a vibe that’s pure island magic. It’s eclectic, adventurous, and the kind of dinner where every plate is a conversation starter.

Proprietors has that “travel the world without leaving Nantucket” feel. Reclaimed wood, vintage art, glowing candlelight — it’s equal parts cozy and cosmopolitan. The buzz of the dining room sets the stage for dishes that feel both familiar and totally new. And then there are the plates: mismatched, colorful, whimsical pieces that make every dish feel like it has its own personality. Half the fun is seeing what arrives at the table next.

🥖 Smoked Olives with Sourdough Crackers – salty, smoky, and the perfect bite to get started.
🥙 Hummus with Snap Peas, Lemon & Sumac – silky, tangy, and bright, with that satisfying crunch of just-picked peas.
🥕 Roasted Carrots over Muhammara with Dates & Walnuts – sweet, smoky, nutty magic in every bite.
🥦 Fried Broccoli with Sambal Vinaigrette & Spicy Peanuts – crisp, fiery, layered with heat and crunch.
🌱 Seared Bok Choy with Mushroom XO & Fried Garlic – umami-rich, garlicky, and impossible to stop eating.
🍋 Semolina Cavatelli with Kale, Capers & Lemon – pasta with a zingy, green punch that tastes like pure summer.
🍧 Seasonal Sorbet – we were too full to make it here, but their vegan sorbets are always refreshing and seasonal.
